1. Food for the obese

a.   consume freely

A complete list of which foods are best to lose weight fast with easy tips

  • Beans, cabbage, cauliflower, carrots, cucumber, lettuce, mushrooms, onions, pumpkin, radish, spinach, turnip, brinjal, ladies finger and ghee (different types of gourds)
  • Fruits (without added sugar) : lemon, oranges, Malta,  melons, keno (an orange-like fruit), strawberries, raspberries, grape-fruit, sweet lime.
  • Tea or coffee without sugar, soda water, lemon juice, tomato juice, diabetic fruit squash, clear un thickened  soup, soup made of chicken or beef cubes.
  • Artificial sweetening agents (such as saccharine), salt and pepper, vinegar, mustard, herbs, flavorings and colorings.

b.   Avoid consuming

2. Food for the Diabetic

a. avoid altogether

  • Jams, marmalade
  • Syrups and honey
  • Tinned fruits.
  • Sweets like toffees and chocolates and sweatneats.
  • Sweet biscuits, chocolate biscuits and cream biscuits.
  • Cola, lemonade and other fizzy drinks, glucose drinks.
  • Sweetened milk preparations and condensed milk.
  • Cakes, pastries, pies, puddings and thick sauces.
  • Alcoholic drinks: beer, wines, spirits.

b.   Consume in moderation

Diabetic foods that balance blood sugar

  • Bread, white or brown.
  • Biscuits (not sweet).
  • Breakfast cereals and porridge.
  • All fresh and dry fruits.
  • Macaroni, spaghetti, custard, corn flour(refined).
  • Thick soups.
  • Diabetic foods.
  • Milk and its products.
  • Pulses
  • Eggs.
  • Red meats.
  • Potatoes, peas and baked beans.

c.   Eat as much as you like.

All white meats and fish.

Clear soups.

Meat extracts.

Tomato juice, lemon juice and  orange juice.

Tea or coffee (without sugar).

Fresh vegetables: cauliflower, spinach, turnip, bringers, ladies finger, French beans, onions, mushrooms, lettuce, cucumber, spring onions, radish, bitter gourd.

Spices and herbs, salt, pepper and mustard.

Artificial sweetening agents such as saccharine.

For obese or overweight diabetics, all fats (animal or vegetable) should be restricted and fried foods in all forms should be banned.


3.   low cholesterol food.

The food items should be high in polyunsaturated fat content and low in saturated fats and cholesterol.

polyunsaturated oil; e.g. sunflower oil, safflower oil, soybean or corn oil, instead of ghee or other animal fats as a cooking medium.

Polyunsaturated margarine instead of butter.

Avoid

Butter.

Hydrogenated margarine,

All animal fats: ghee, lard, suet.

Cakes, biscuits and pastries made with the above ingredients.

Sweetmeats sweets made from animal fats.

Fatty meats and organ meats (brain, liver, kidney).

Whole milk and cream.

All fried foods, except those fried in unsaturated oil.
